OUR JOURNEY
The Door Christian Center is associated with the Christian Fellowship Ministries. Pastor Collins served in ministry under his Senior Pastor (Pastor Carlos Morales) for 6 years. He was privileged to start two churches, under the guidance of his Senior Pastor. One church was started in Suffolk VA, one in Portsmouth VA, and now pastoring "The Door Christian Center" in Charlotte NC. He and his wife of 15 years (as of August 2018) have a tremendous heart for those that don't believe they belong in church, and those that have been away from God for some time but are intimidated to go back to church. He has a God-given desire to pray for the sick and to make vocal the hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone.
OUR ROOTS
The Door Christian Center of Charlotte is a Christian Fellowship Ministries' Church. CFM, Inc. was founded in 1970 by Pastor Wayman Mitchell. A spiritual fire was launched that is spanning the globe. Now, over 3,200 churches have been planted in over 130 nations of the world with the number growing daily. From that, crusades and conferences sprung up that are touching tens of thousands every year. This church is a product of that vision and is working to see it expanded in the short time that remains before Jesus' return. God has given us a vision for the day we live in. Our message is simple, yet it is the cornerstone of all truth. Jesus Christ is the only hope for man's salvation and that is true with every person in every nation on the globe. In a world full of empty dreams and false promises is a truth which grows stronger every year, and that is Jesus Christ and Him crucified!
LOCAL LEADERSHIP
In our local church, God has given us a powerful revival of men and we are obeying the command by Jesus in Matthew 28:19 to "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." As we have grown as a church, men have grown into leadership roles.
Pastor Mitchell & Sherrie Collins
Pastor Collins and his wife Sherrie arrived in Charlotte, NC in February of 2011 taking on the task of pioneering a brand new church. Prior to his arrival, he had served in ministry in the Norfolk, VA Potter's House Church for 8 years. Pastor Collins served in the United States Navy for five years.
